As we trek onwards hoping for a better tomorrow, I’ve compiled five things, in no particular order, I’m looking forward to in the new year. Absolutely no one asked for this, and yet here it is. 

Play Nice x Metric Espresso Martini β˜•οΈ β€” While it courted us as #drinkofthesummer, I’m p pumped to try this new collab between Foxtrot’s Play Nice Vodka and Chicago-roasted Metric Coffee for this ready-to-drink cocktail. This is absolutely not sponsored, I just have an unhealthy addiction to clean branding.

AIDS Garden Chicago πŸͺ¨ β€” The Belmont Rocks are known as a historical landmark for the queer community of Chicago to gather from the early 1960s to late β€˜90s. Nearly two decades later, a community garden opens this coming Spring to commemorate the land which served as a space for LGBTQ+ folk to safely gather in sunlight. Centered around a 30ft sculpture by one of my favorite artists/activists, Keith Haring, visitors will have a chance to also relax lakeside and reflect upon those who served as trailblazers before us. 

The OK Tarot Deck πŸ—‘ β€” For the holidays, Abbie was kind enough to gift me Adam JK’s OK Tarot Deck. While I’ve always considered myself tarot-adjacent, I’m looking forward to attempting weekly card-pulls and starting on a, what will surely be a slow burn, journey of learning more about the major and minor arcana. Certainly, lmk if you wanna participate in a friendly and most likely inaccurate reading πŸ˜‡

Valentines ’22 πŸ’• β€” If you’re at all familiar with my silly annual v-day tradition handing out three-dimensional candy grams, you may be excited for the upgrade i’m cooking up in the new year. It’s been a hot moment since I’ve launched a personal project and Miss Omi has me scratching for something to distract my mind. At the moment I’m thinking of shipping off a very limited batch of β–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆ paired with a cute β–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆβ–ˆ to share with a friend. But more on that to come!

FAMISKY Standing Desk πŸ–₯ β€” Again I promise I this email is anything but Sponsoredℒ️, but I’ve been having such a good time with my new WFH setup that I wanna shout it from my midrise rooftop. This relatively affordable electric desk has greatly helped complete my stand circle ring and I am honestly ashamed how long I stuck to sitting all day at my kitchen table.
